Emilie Nicolas

Emilie Nicolas was embraced with open arms by both critics and the audience when she released her debut album "Like I'm a Warrior" in 2014. She topped the album charts and received two Spellemann Awards – an achievement she repeated with her next album, "Tranquille Emilie," in 2018. In the aftermath of the album release, she sold out both Sentrum Scene and performed for two nights at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet. In 2020, her third album, "Let Her Breathe," was released and was highlighted as one of the best albums of the year in various circles.

Musically, Emilie weaves a thread from her trained jazz background towards an increasingly innovative pop universe. In the last year, she has released three singles: "Easy," "Limits," and "Everyday," where with "Easy," she took her clearest step onto the dance floor. With pulsating beats and dark tones, it forces descriptions that could belong to not many others: Danceable melancholy. Catchy despair. Where it effortlessly shifts between the organic and the digital.

In 2024, it will finally be possible to experience Emilie's universe in a live setting again when she brings her fantastic band to a handful of Norwegian stages. Don't miss Emilie on her home turf at Bærum Kulturhus.
