Kari Bremnes

Three decades as celebrated composer and performer, 15 solo albums, countless awards and multitudes of live performances at home and abroad: Kari Bremnes ranks up there among the premier division of Norwegian artists. 

Backed by tightly knit backing band, Bremnes is poised for a triumphant return to a loyal Sandvika audience. 

– This return to the stage brings us all together as we all share at least one experience. Granted, if the audience hasn't forgotten how to enjoy a live show, we have not lost the ability to perform, relates Bremnes. 

Bremnes last performance at the Bærum Performing Arts Centre was back in pre-Covid times during the 2020 winter. In the ensuing months, Bremnes has released a stunning new track, "Den nye stillheten" (The New Silence) – with lyrics that revolve around the yearning for what we have been barred from experiencing during the last year's lockdown. 

Says Bremnes: – More than anything, I've missed meeting other people. That spontaneity and frivolousness and the stories that we share. That's the stuff that songs are borne out of. Lack of human contact notwithstanding, new songs are in the pipeline and will be showcased live, alongside repertoire stalwarts. I do sincerely hope that we'll meet again, face to face, this autumn!
