Norway’s new jazz supertrio is ready for Bærum Jazzfestival 2026: Bugge Wesseltoft, Arild Andersen and Gard Nilssen. Three distinctive artists, three jazz generations – one shared pulse.

Keyboard visionary Jens Christian Bugge Wesseltoft, bass maestro Arild Andersen and one of the leading new-generation drummers, Gard Nilssen, represent three generations of Norwegian jazz musicians, all firmly established among the international elite. All three are acclaimed bandleaders, with projects ranging from solo work to Nilssen’s large-scale Supersonic Orchestra.

In the Wesseltoft-Andersen-Nilssen Trio, they come together around a repertoire where each artist contributes their own compositions, including music from Bugge’s recent album Am Are and Andersen’s Arv and Sagn universes.

As a collective, they have further developed this material, and with their highly personal musical voices they invite audiences on a unique musical journey.
