This year, the Merge festival has a Norwegian focus and presents Norwegian artists either as headliners or as part of an international company. At the same time, the program is heavily influenced by the current infrastructure, where performances take place in foreign, particularly Scandinavian, collaborations, and where professional artists primarily work abroad. Against this backdrop, we ask: What is the future direction for Norwegian circus?
