Iceland's Kings of Fusion
Elegant, well-rounded, groovy, and melodic – Mezzoforte excels in creating jazz-rock without expiration dates. A must for anyone who loves vibrant fusion with beautiful melodies, tight collaboration, and out-of-this-world solos.
Mezzoforte has perfected their expression through an almost 45-year career that has taken them around the world. The concert in April will be a highlight for all lovers of vibrant fusion with beautiful melodies, tight collaboration, and out-of-this-world solos.
In many ways, Mezzoforte initiated the significant Icelandic music export adventure. With the major hit "Garden Party," Icelanders conquered the charts worldwide in 1983. In the subsequent decades, these hardworking musicians haven't been idle: global tours, instrumental hits, and building a fan base loyal to a timeless and easily likable expression.
If you've been fortunate enough to experience the Icelanders live, most would agree: this is simply an incredible live band. There's tight collaboration, beautiful sax and guitar sections, fantastic slap bass, perfect key stabs, and a drum groove that just keeps going.
When we mention that the band comes in full force with all four original members, it gets even better: look forward to a reunion with Fridrik Karlsson, Eythor Gunnarsson, Gulli Briem, and Johann Asmundsson. They are also joined by the Swedish Jonas Wall on saxophone and the Icelander Ari Bragi Karason on trumpet.
Fire up "Garden Party" on Spotify, play some air bass slapping, and get ready for an evening in the realm of quality fusion.
