Bendik Hofseth - Woodlands

After being discovered by world-class vibraphonist Mike Mainieri and taking over from Michael Brecker in the legendary jazz-rock band Steps Ahead, there was only one direction for Bendik Hofseth: forward.

He released his debut album IX in 1991 on Columbia Records in the USA, and after many albums, numerous roles within music and musicians’ organisations, and his position as Professor of Rhythmic Music at the University of Agder, Hofseth was honoured in April 2026 with the appointment as Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav for his outstanding contributions.

For his performance at Varmesentralen, Bendik brings his Woodlands Band, featuring Bendik Hofseth – vocals and saxophone, Eivind Aarset – guitars, Mats Eilertsen – bass, Helge Iberg – piano, and Per Oddvar Johansen – drums.
