Opening party with The Real Thing
Opening party for Bæum Jazzfestival 2024.
A tradition continues: there will be a fantastic opening party for the jazz festival on the Foajés stage. The crowd favourites in The Real Thing offer hard-swinging, organ-based soul jazz - the perfect setting to kick off the jazz festival.
After Chief Adjuah has rounded off the opening concert of the festival, it's time to shake things up on the Foajé stage. The Real Thing knows how to get jazz bodies moving in sync. Something very special happens when Palle Wagnberg fires up the Hammond organ and the Leslie cabinet begins to rumble.
Since its inception in 1992, The Real Thing has played more than 1,700 concerts and sold over 55,000 records of hard-swinging, organ-based soul jazz inspired by greats such as Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, George Benson and Wes Montgomery. The band that ‘never leaves the stage in a dry tuxedo’ has built up a solid fan base even outside the jazz community.
