Gadjiev's cultural background is as rich as his artistry. He grew up in the border town of Gorizia, between Slovenia and Italy—a crossroads of peoples, cultures, languages and music. Raised by parents who are both piano teachers and performing musicians, he was immersed from an early age in a wide variety of musical styles and traditions, an experience that has profoundly shaped his artistic identity and distinctive voice as a pianist. Add to this his command of five languages—Italian, Slovenian, English, German and Russian—and you have a truly Central European artist who is constantly embracing new influences and forms of expression.
