Two powerful yet young musicians join forces. It becomes energetic, poetic, virtuosic, and vital when opera soloist and mezzo-soprano Astrid Nordstad and pianist Christian Grøvlen create harmony.

Mezzo-soprano Astrid Nordstad hails from Trondheim. In the fall of 2017, she participated in the Copenhagen Lied-Duo Competition alongside Christian Grøvlen, where they received third prize. Nordstad made her debut at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen in the fall of 2015 as Flora in Verdi's La Traviata, and in 2019, she participated in the Queen Sonja International Music Competition, where she received the Ingrid Bjoner Scholarship for the best Norwegian participant. In 2022, Nordstad also received the Tom Wilhelmsen Opera and Ballet Prize. Over the past two years, Astrid has been involved in several exciting projects and concerts, and this spring, she is performing in the production of Madame Butterfly at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet.

Christian Grøvlen is the director of KODE's composer home and an actively performing pianist. Grøvlen made his debut with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra in 2019 and with the Opera Orchestra in 2020. In 2017, his first recording Bach - Inside Polyphony was released, and in 2021, his next album Eventyr was launched.
