Einar Scheving Quartet
Icelandic jazz greats set for first Norwegian performance.
Icelandic masters of melodic Nordic chamber jazz are poised for their first Norwegian appearance at Bærum Kulturhus.
The Einar Scheving Quartet has been one of Iceland’s foremost jazz bands since its inception in 2006, when they recorded their first album, Cycles. The quartet released their fourth album, Mi Casa, Su Casa, last year and for that, Einar was awarded at the Icelandic Music Awards as Jazz Composer of the Year. The quartet comprises some of the country’s leading musicians. Besides Einar, who plays drums and percussion, the members are bassist Skúli Sverrisson, pianist Eyþór Gunnarsson, and saxophonist Óskar Guðjónsson.
